I Wish I Was Fishin' | SONG

I Wish I Was Fishin'
Written by: Christopher Williams

I can't catch a cool breeze blowin' in the air
I've been working every weekend, and it ain't fair
I should've called in sick or said my back hurt
Cuz its too damn hard to fight this urge

I wish I was fishin', 'steada workin' in this heat
A day at the lake would have this beat
I really don't mind if I sweat
But for a Saturday, it's the wrong kinda wet
I should be wettin' a line and dippin' a net
Yeah, I wish I was fishin', but this day ain't over yet

I really ought to be kicking myself
Cuz I work harder than everybody else
I deserve at least a day or two
To do what I wanna do

I wish I was fishin', 'steada workin' in this heat
A day at the lake would have this beat
I really don't mind if I sweat
But for a Saturday, it's the wrong kinda wet
I should be wettin' a line and dippin' a net
Yeah, I wish I was fishin', but this day ain't over yet

Yeah, I should be fishin'
But do you think my boss will listen?
I ought to jump in my Chevrolet
And drive on down to the lake

Cuz I should be fishin' and layin' in the shade
A day at the lake, and I'd have it made
I don't mind dippin' a net
Cuz ya see, that's the right kinda wet
I could catch a few, and I'd be set
I should be fishin', but this day ain't over yet

Yeah, that's why I'm fishin', 'steada workin' in the heat
Yeah, I'm fishin'...
